Gamers Raise Awareness

A lot of pro-gaming communities such as MLG (http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/), even Razer and a lot more sites that can be seen here have gone on strike and blacked out their domains in protest to the Stop Online Piracy Act.

Although this is not a Phillipine or Cebu issue, it is comforting to know that the International gaming community is working hand-in-hand to raise awareness in this controversy.

To learn more about this controversial bill, visit this link. We encourage the American gaming community to open their eyes and put an end to this violation of Internet freedom.

GameVolution January

It is the first month of 2012 and welcoming the year of the Yang Water Dragon is a back-to-back StarCraft II and Defense of the Ancients action.

If you are interested in participating, please read the poster, as well as the instructions, below:

GV-January Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I know if I am eligible for the Novice Tournament?
For SCII: In order to qualify, you have to be either Unplaced, Bronze, Silver or Gold in ALL your accounts.
For DotA: In order to be eligible for a slot, NONE of your members should belong to a team that has been a placer in the Cebu major tournaments by Cebu Gaming League and Mineski.
The marshals reserve the right to disqualify a player or team if found to be dishonest; in which case, your registration fee will not be refunded and you will be banned for the next tournament.

If Expert Tournament is open for everybody, why isn't it called Open Tournament?
We have decided to use the label Expert because of three reasons:
1. We encourage competitive gaming and we want people to try harder in open tournaments.
2. Any Novice team or player who choose to compete in both tournaments (Novice and Expert) deserve to be acknowledged for their bravery.
3. We want to unify both SCII (novice and expert) and DotA (uprising and professional) terms.

StarCraft II does not have a registration fee and yet we play for free, how does that happen?
We have funded the computer usage of the previous tournaments with our own money. For this tournament, we  might ask for a small amount (probably 50php or less) just to lessen the expenses.
